Ginger & Cinnamon Tea

Chase down any meal with a ginger & cinnamon tea. Into a mug, put 2-3 slices of fresh ginger root and 1 cinnamon quill. Add boiling water. Drink when cool enough. You can usually reuse the ginger and cinnamon for a second mug.

Cold or ‘flu bothering you? Then you need to make up the stronger version of the ginger & cinnamon tea in a bigger batch.

Put a medium saucepan on the stove. Add the following to the saucepan:
one large knob of fresh ginger root (about 100g) peeled and sliced
two cinnamon sticks or two teaspoons of powdered cinnamon
the washed and torn up leaves from a whole bunch of basil
one litre of boiling water

Add the sliced ginger, cinnamon and washed basil leaves to the boiling water and remove from heat. Let it sit until it has cooled, then stir. One cup twice daily is ideal.

This tea will help to thin and expectorate the mucus (makes it easier to get out). It also helps with appetite, aches, pains and fever.
